Neco's Mission
Why are we in business? For us it is not just about making a profit. From day one, our desire has been to make people think about the world we live in. This is, and always will be, our main purpose.
With dwindling natural resources, climate change and Australia's inherent water shortages, it has never been more critical for Australians to get the most out of what we use. At Neco, we provide comprehensive goods and services that allow easy access to the most up to date solutions to these issues now affecting us all. Neco has established itself as a market leader by taking an unashamedly eco-entrepreneurial approach to a sector predominantly characterized by 'not for profit' organisations. We strive to bring a flair and dynamism to the marketplace by embracing and operating from the concepts of natural capitalism.
Blackburn based retail and online eco megastore, Neco has hit back at the Federal Government’s reduction in the insulation rebate scheme by giving back to its customers $170 more than the $400 the government has taken away. In a move designed to ensure that it is clearly differentiated from some of the transient businesses that the government has targeted, Neco is offering customers that install insulation from Neco, $570 worth of cash back and discount offers.
“The environment is about more than money for us,” said Neco CEO Julian Smith. “Already we have helped reduce carbon by thousands of tonnes a year with our insulation installations,” Smith continued. “Our big concern is that with over 80% of qualifying homes being around the $1600 mark, many home owners will not install or defer installation and that’s not good for the environment – we wanted to remove those barriers in the way that only Neco can.” Smith concluded.
The company is offering a free upgrade to R4.0 rated batts to improve the environmental impact of all installations, a $100 cash back voucher to redeem in store, a $200 in home consultation, free downlight kit, referral bonus and ongoing privileges for web purchases. There is even a free test drive of a 100% Blade Electric Car.
“It’s too easy for the handful of shonky operators who have discredited the original scheme, just to undercut the professional installers on price,” Smith said, “This way, we know that they can’t come close to matching Neco’s environmental credentials |
